Years ago I was elk hunting with my son, high in the Rockies of Colorado. We had taken a camper with us, carefully maneuvering along the obstacle course of the mountain road, which was quite a task. After settling into our camp, other hunters moved into the same general area and pitched their tents. The next morning we awoke to almost a foot of snow. Several tents had collapsed during the night. I began to think about designing a portable cabin that we could take high into the mountains without the worry of damaging a camper or being the victim of a collapsed tent. Two years later my design was complete and patented. I have since built two prototypes which my son and I have used in the mountains of Colorado.
The pictures here are of the first prototype used during a hunting season in Colorado. Several of my friends encouraged me to market my cabins as multi-purpose units to be used for hunting cabins, lake houses, ice fishing huts, etc. Thus, Tote-a-Cabin, our family owned business, now manufactures these versatile, portable cabins.
